Favorite Song: Jeez, there are so many.

Influences: Dylan, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Southern Culture On The Skids, Red Elvises

Gustav grew up on the family farm in Sweden, about an hour from Stockholm. At the age of 19 he moved to the US where he spent two years working on a boarding school, in the middle of an Iowa corn field. A couple of years later Gustav relocated to Madison where he met his wife (they both worked at an elementary school, naughty ain’t it?)

Since then Gustav has worked as a flight instructor and Captain for a Wisconsin based airline. Music has always been an important part of his life. As a child Gustav could be found in front of his parent’s stereo listening to Dylan, Dire Straits and other great artists. Back then, music was recoded onto large black circular discs called records. Gustav began playing the clarinet in elementary school but transitioned to drums a few years later. Remember kids, there’s no shame in quitting if it becomes to hard.

Gustav began playing with the NMK in 2005, and has since then managed not to get fired by brining beer to practices and shoveling the other band member’s sidewalks.
